Crafters Studios

Much is owed to the dedication of the original volunteer Board of Directors who 'stuck by' the original idea despite many setbacks, to the generousity of the Moffat family, who purchased and renovated the first two studios in 2002 and to the support of Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire from 2003-2007.

We now have eight craft studios - first and foremost these studios are workshops where craft work is produced by a single maker. Raw materials are transformed, each piece of work is designed and then made on the premises. This is labour intensive, highly skilled work that requires concentration and focus - whilst work is available for sale, the studios are not purely retail outlets.

Craft makers may have to visit commissioning clients, attend exhibitions, craft fairs, international selling events, or be called away at short notice.

Generally studios are all open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (although some open over and above these times). Full contact details can be found on each craft maker’s dedicated page on the drop down menu above. To avoid any disappointment, we recommend you call before travelling.
