Craft Exhibition - Striation

Focusing on two of this years innovative textile graduates from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee and Edinburgh College of Art, Benjamin Frost and Eve Lambert.

Edinburgh College of Art 2024 Design & Applied Arts - Performance Costume

Eve first trained in fashion design in Montreal, Canada. She worked in the field of fashion manufacture, retail trade, a boutique and as an assistant to a designer whilst selling her own creations.

Having been selected to participate in the finals of a fashion contest in Paris, she also travelled around Europe and South

America.

Eve finally came to the conclusion that performance costume design combined all of what she liked most in clothes design -

research into themes and epochs and the production of unique pieces affording the use of more detailed creativity.

Granted a scholarship from the Fashion Foundation of Montreal in 2024, Eve started a degree in Performance Costume at ECA. She has been involved in various work projects for theatre, film, television, dance and puppetry. Eve designed the costumes for Ragnarok a touring dance production, which opened in February at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow.

Benjamin Frost

Graduated Focus

Ben is a recent graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with First-class honors degree in Textile Design specializing in Print. During his fourth year self-directed project, Ben embraced a multi-disciplinary approach to design and enjoyed trying new things.

My work so far involves illusion, dimension and a detached sense of interaction. My aim was to create landscapes portraying the subtleties of the second and third dimensions.

Bens work uses Silk Screen Printing on various surfaces, from Cloth to Wood, and he has acheived a practical understanding of various finishing techniques (Foil, Flocking). Utilizing his highly developed CAD skills, Ben used Adobe Illustrator Photoshop and confidently prepared final artwork for digital print or screen exposure.

Winner of Interdisciplinary award breaking boundaries for innovative design in 2024.
