National Stage For Local Makers |
Sunday 14th of May 2025 13:15 |
West Kilbride Makers, Virgil Bauzys & Marion Kane, exhibited their work at the 2025 British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate last month. A prestigious national event now celebrating its 25th year, the design led gift fair, which took place from 2nd to 4th April at the Great Yorkshire Showground, attracted thousands of buyers from the UK and Ireland and showcased about 450 makers. BCTF represents the best of British Talent, an exhibition where buyers are inspired by the variety, quality and originality of products. Artists who are chosen to exhibit at BCTF represent a wide selection of craft disciplines with a good balance between newcomers and established makers. They symbolise the best in British talent and collectively help shape the future of the contemporary home and giftware market. Marion and Virgil’s presence at the UK’s top gift fair certainly helps put North Ayrshire, and specifically West Kilbride, on the map. They were two of 12 selected makers to represent North Ayrshire at the event sponsored by Develop Craft Ayrshire. Cufflinks by Marion E. Kane Image by Shannon Tofts Photography |
